log home floor plans

Price includes structural drawings for planning and building warrant application*. SAP rating. SER certification, assembly instructions.
The supply of the log cabin kit, including walls, floors, ceiling, roof, windows, external and internal doors, and door/window furniture. All walls are logs or log profile panelling. All floors are 28mm pine floorboards. We don't normally supply chipboard flooring or plasterboard walls.

Not included is roofing tiles/slates, plumbing, sanitary ware, kitchen units, electrical fittings, foundations, paint. All prices exclude delivery and vat.

As a very rough "Rule of thumb" a fully built and fitted out log cabin should cost approximately twice the basic materials cost.

Floor

All rooms have 28 mm thick red pine floorboards. No chipboard flooring.

External walls

95mm planed tongue and groove profiled timber, fully marked and ready for assembly. The inside of the external wall is strapped with 45 x 128 mm studwork and 18 x 162 log profile cladding giving a total wall thickness of 241mm

Roof

45 x 145mm rafters and 19mm sarking. Roof trusses are an alternative.

Ceiling

34 X 45mm and 45 X 45mm battens with 15 x 88 mm tongue and grooved profiled cladding.

Finishing

Triple 22 X 145mm barge boards, 22 X 95mm water boards, 22 X 120mm fascia board and external lining for door and windows. Sawn decoration for mounting under lower barge board. Interior skirting 12 X 57mm, 45 X 45mm and 15 X 57mm window lining, cornice 22 X 54mm.

Windows and doors

Entrance door with handle and cylinder lock, double glazed light, frame & metal sill. Opening window with double glazed pane and optional window bars.

Verandah

34 X 95mm joists with 22 X 95mm impregnated flooring. 58 X 136mm planed tongue and groove profile railings continous with walls. 34 X 115 handrails. 2 off turned supports.

A well designed and well built Log House is solid and tight. Industrially and precisely manufactured logs with exact joints prevent uncontrolled ventilation through structures.The insulation and thermal mass qualities of solid wood naturally maintain the desired temperature level in all conditions, making it very energy efficient.
